Vintage Fastpitch 1887 – Softball T-shirt

$26.00$28.00

The earliest known softball game was played in Chicago, Illinois on Thanksgiving Day, 1887 between Yale and Harvard University alumni outside of a football game. When the game was over and all bets were settled, a Yale alumnus threw a boxing glove at a Harvard supporter who picked the glove up and hit it with a broom stick. A reporter there named George Hancock yelled “Play Ball!” and the rest is history. The game was played using a boxing glove tightened into a ball and a broom handle serving as a bat. The final score was 41-40. This t-shirt is a tribute to that game. Vintage style design with a modern, fastpitch twist.
